Vito: Project Delivery & Technology Integration Specialist
06/04/2026
Many projects don’t fail due to a lack of capability but because of fragmented systems, competing priorities, and unclear ownership.
Contractors who can navigate this complexity, connect moving parts, and maintain delivery momentum play a critical role in successful outcomes.
In this article, we introduce Vito, a new member of Umbrella Club. His experience across application delivery, system integration, and infrastructure highlights the value of adaptable project leadership in today’s fast-moving industry.
Looking to connect with experienced IT professionals and expand your network? Umbrella Club offers a space to build meaningful relationships, share insights, and access new opportunities. Become a member today.
Introducing Vito
Do you have a niche or special areas of interest?
I’m a generalist project manager with experience spanning application delivery, system integration, and infrastructure projects.
In recent years, I’ve led several merger and acquisition programs, overseeing the full migration of the acquired businesses’ technology environments — including networks, servers, applications, and end user computing — into the parent organisation’s ecosystem.
My current area of interest is how AI can streamline project management by reducing time spent on repetitive coordination and documentation tasks.
I’m particularly focused on how these efficiencies can free up more capacity for strategic thinking or even enable PMs to manage a larger project portfolio, ultimately lowering overall project management costs across programs.
Describe your ideal project
An ideal project is one where I can bring structure to complexity and guide a team through a clear, well-defined delivery path.
I enjoy stepping into environments with moving parts across applications, integrations, and infrastructure, and shaping them into a coordinated program of work.
Projects with strong stakeholder engagement, clear business outcomes, and room to introduce better ways of working.
I’m especially energised by projects that involve organisational change or large-scale technology uplift, where I can align teams, manage dependencies, and keep delivery momentum steady from initiation through to handover.
What advice would you give to an IT contractor at the start of their career?
Grow your Network!
Networking consistently outperforms relying on job-seeking websites.
Building a strong circle of recruiters and industry colleagues—and staying in touch even when you’re not actively looking—creates momentum long before you need your next role.
When opportunities arise, you already have people who know your work, trust you, and can move quickly on your behalf.
In the current market, those relationships open far more doors than submitting applications to crowded online portals.
How long have you been a member of Umbrella Club?
I’ve only just joined Umbrella Club, but the welcome has been genuinely warm, and it’s already paid off — the support and connections I’ve made helped me secure my next gig almost immediately.

Walter is the Founder and CEO of Umbrella Club.
He emigrated to Australia in early 2018, bringing with him years of experience building a successful company in the Netherlands. Drawing inspiration from community-based staffing models that had thrived in Europe, he adapted these concepts to fit the Australian market. This led to the creation of Umbrella Club, a unique solution tailored to meet the needs of IT contractors while fostering a strong sense of community.
